7 Ways To Use Chatbots To Increase Leads On Your Site

Almost half of all small businesses have chatbots on their site.

They are extremely effective for engaging with customers.

But did you know they can also have a place in your marketing strategy?

Chatbots can help generate leads.

And if you’re a service business you know how important a lead is and you know there is no such thing as having too many leads.

We offer some tips for service businesses on how to get the most out of your chatbots so you can get more leads.

1. Greet customers with a welcome message
Say a simple hello or let them know you are there if they have any questions. This can be a great conversation starter.  Often chatbots get ignored but if you start with a greeting, you give them that “push” to engage in a chat.

2. Offer to call them right now
Add a chatbot to your signup page. If your customer got that far, they are more than just curious and clearly interested in your product/service. Now would be a good time to break the ice and ask “Would you like us to call you now?”.

3. Let customers know about special offers
If you are a business that sells different products and services, you can cross sell or upsell by having a chatbot on individual service pages. Let customers know that you have a special offer for them and make your offer.

4. Show more of what your customers want
Most chatbots let you see a list of current website visitors on your site and things like pages visited. If you have a website, this is useful information to know. The most visited pages are probably your most popular pages so make sure to give your audience more of that.

5. Start a conversation
Instead of waiting for a customer to message you, message them. To start a conversation, go into your chatbot’s dashboard and go to current visitors and click ‘Start Chat’.

6. Collect email addresses
Your chatbot can get leads for your business even when you are away from your computer. You can collect email address in two ways: setting up your chatbot so that someone has to complete a pre-chat survey before they can chat with your business or if you are offline and a customer tries to chat with you, you can tell the chatbot to ask them to leave their email.

7. Show your personality
Use emojis, use your first name, use a selfie as the display photo, use GIFs in chats, tell a joke. The magic of chatbots is that they are fully customizable.
